#16 Mickey Mouse

Mickey Mouse is a funny animal cartoon character and the official mascot of the Walt Disney company. He was created by Walt Disney and Ub Iwerks at the Walt Disney Studios in 1928. Mickey Mouse was created as a replacement for Oswald the Lucky Rabbit.

Mickey first was seen in a single test screening. Mickey officially debuted in the short film Steamboat Willie (1928), one of the first sound cartoons. He went on to appear in over 130 films, including The Band Concert (1935), Brave Little Tailor (1938), and Fantasia (1940). Mickey appeared primarily in short films, but also occasionally in feature-length films.

Nine of Mickey’s cartoons were nominated for the Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film, one of which, Lend a Paw, won the award in 1942. In 1978, Mickey became the first cartoon character to have a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Beginning in 1930, Mickey has also been featured extensively as a comic strip character.

Mickey has also appeared in comic books and in television series such as The Mickey Mouse Club (1955–1996) and others. He also appears in other media such as video games as well as merchandising, and is a meetable character at the Disney parks.

In 2009, Disney began to rebrand the character again by putting less emphasis on his pleasant, cheerful side and reintroducing the more mischievous and adventurous sides of his personality, beginning with the video game Epic Mickey.

#14 Blue Roses… ?

Flowers, especially roses, are used to convey many emotions we have for each other. Be it “I love you” or “I’m sorry,” sending roses is the perfect way to give someone a lift as well as send a message that you may feel reluctant to say.

So where and when did the color meaning of rose originate? Jack Goody, in his book ‘The Culture of Flowers’, says that giving meanings to flowers originally came from the East and while meaning can be highly subjective some are universally accepted. Also called floriography, the art of speaking with flowers originated in Persia where illiterate women of the Ottoman seraglios used flowers to communicate, as written language was forbidden.

we still use the rose to get our emotions across to the recipient.      “The single rose is, in essence, a symbol of completion, of consummate achievement and perfection”, says J. E. Cirlot in his ‘A Dictionary of Symbols’. Be it red, blue, white or yellow, roses convey so much alone or in a bunch.

14

Meaning of blue roses – is mystery, achievement of something impossible. Blue roses are exceptional and enigmatic, so they can be granted to inaccessible and enigmatic people.

You can find the meaning of a blue rose in literature as a symbol of prosperity and love to those who seek it. The blue colour is also associated with royal blood, and that is why the blue rose can denote majesty and splendor.

The idea of the blue flower is to express tender and hidden emotional world, deep moods, secrets, that overfill soul of someone. Blue colour belongs to sky, water, endless space. Blue rose means quest for the impossible that never ends, the poetical daydream and reality, searching for mystic, anguish and hope, and sometimes is the melancholy, mood of hopeless sadness. Maybe this meaning appeared because blue rose represents never-to-be-fulfilled wish or something determined to remain as a dream.

#10 Little Red Riding Hood

“LITTLE RED RIDING HOOD” is one of the very famous story for kids. It is a French and later European fairy tale of a young girl and a big bad wolf.

The story in brief…….

One day,Little Red Riding Hood’s mother said to her, “Take this basket of goodies to your grandma’s cottage, but don’t talk to strangers on the way!” Promising not to, Little Red Riding Hood skipped off. On her way she met the Big Bad Wolf who asked, “Where are you going, little girl?” “To my grandma’s, Mr. Wolf!” she answered.

The Big Bad Wolf then ran to her grandmother’s cottage much before Little Red Riding Hood, and knocked on the door. When Grandma opened the door, he locked her up in the cupboard. The wicked wolf then wore Grandma’s clothes and lay on her bed, waiting for Little Red Riding Hood.

When Little Red Riding Hood reached the cottage, she entered and went to Grandma’s bedside.

“My! What big eyes you have, Grandma!” she said in surprise. “All the better to see you with, my dear!” replied the wolf.

“My! What big ears you have, Grandma!” said Little Red Riding Hood. “All the better to hear you with, my dear!” said the wolf.

“What big teeth you have, Grandma!” said Little Red Riding Hood. “All the better to eat you with!” growled the wolf pouncing on her.

Little Red Riding Hood screamed and the woodcutters in the forest came running to the cottage. They beat the Big Bad Wolf and rescued Grandma from the cupboard.

Grandma hugged Little Red Riding Hood with joy. The Big Bad Wolf ran away never to be seen again. Little Red Riding Hood had learnt her lesson and never spoke to strangers ever again.

#4 Fantasy World

Childhood is a very joyful time.joy

I feel very delighted when I recollect my childhood days.

I believe that childhood is the happiest time because children at that age do not have any responsibilities & the way they think completely differ from others.

childMany children imagine their own world which is definitely filled with smiling flowers, butterflies, etc.

Obviously I’m one of them. I imagine profusely and created a beautiful & fabulous world around me Jbwg which grows along with me.
